IN THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS OF YORK COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Orphan’s Court Division In Re: : No. 2016-0117 : ADOPTION OF : Macie Elizabeth Farmer : Petitioners: Harvey and Lisa Littman ATTENTION: Brian Farmer and Valerie Renee Owens (Respondents) A petition has been filed asking the court to put an end to all rights you have to your child Macie Elizabeth Farmer. You are warned that even if you fail to appear for the hearing, the hearing will go on without you and your rights to your child may be ended by the court without you being present. A Hearing has been scheduled in the above-captioned matter for the 1st day of June, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., in Courtroom #6003, at York County Judicial Center, 45 North George Street, York, Pennsylvania 17401. This is to inform you of an important option that may be available to you under Pennsylvania law. Act 101 of 2010 allows for an optional voluntary agreement for continuing contact or communication following an adoption of the child, if all parties agree and the voluntary agreement is approved by the court. The agreement must be signed and approved by the court to be legally enforceable. A birth relative is defined only as a parent, grandparent, stepparent, sibling, uncle or aunt of the child’s birth family, whether the relationship is by blood, marriage or adoption. This is optional, voluntary agreement may allow you to have continuing contact or communication, including, but not limited to: •Letters and/or emails; •Photos and/or videos; •Telephone calls and/or text messages; or •Supervised or unsupervised visits NOTICE If you wish to defend, you must enter a written appearance personally or by attorney and file your defenses or objections in writing with the court. You are warned that if you fail to do so the case may proceed without you and a judgment may be entered against you without further notice for the relief requested by the plaintiff.
